Dr. Dave Bhattacharya, MD

Dr. S. Dave Bhattacharya is a fellowship-trained pediatric surgeon specializing in general and thoracic surgery. He joined University Surgical Associates in 2016 and performs surgeries at Children’s Hospital at Erlanger in Chattanooga, TN. Dr. Bhattacharya is also the Pediatric Trauma Medical Director at Erlanger Children’s Hospital, where he leads initiatives to prevent pediatric trauma and gun violence. He holds an MD from the University of Tennessee, completed his residency at Duke University, and a pediatric surgery fellowship at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Bhattacharya is an Assistant Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and has been recognized for his contributions to biomedical research.
