The collective pressure and influence of Tennesseans have been instrumental
in bringing the need for firearm safety legislation to the forefront. Attending the
2024 legislative session allows us to represent people from all walks of life
and regions across Tennessee, advocating for meaningful change and
demonstrating continued interest in policy action following the 2023 special
session.
We are looking for volunteers to attend committee meetings. The TN General Assembly convened January 9th, 2024 and legislative session is now in full swing and will likely adjourning sometime in April or May. We need legislative presence during the week for relevant committee hearings and some meetings, primarily on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The schedule for committee hearings and meetings will be fluid and subject to change on a weekly basis. Because it is important that we have representatives attending all meetings relevant to firearm access and safety, we are asking volunteers to sign up to attend shifts.
Read our Legislative Guide here and sign up below to offer your time and presence at the Capitol. Our team will provide guidance closer to your volunteer date on where your presence will be most valuable. Whether it is 2 hours or 2 full days, your showing up is making a difference!
Below is an updated schedule of when we are encouraging our coalition members across the state to travel to Nashville to engage with the legislature. Don’t see your county listed or need to travel at a different date? You are welcome.
Legislative session is fluid but most of the activity will be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Sign-ups for specific times will be available the Friday prior.
**Keep checking back for more dates.
