Cathy Cate

Cathy Cate is a prominent nonprofit leader known for her instrumental role as the founding executive director and president of Leadership Tennessee. During her 10-year tenure, she spearheaded the organization’s transition to a standalone 501(c)(3) organization and led major fundraising efforts, significantly increasing its statewide reach and impact. Before moving to Middle Tennessee in 2011, she served as the executive director of Leadership Blount County, where she focused on local leadership development and civic education, establishing herself as a key figure in leadership programs across Tennessee.

In addition to her executive roles, Cathy is actively involved in various boards and community initiatives, including serving on the Tennessee State Parks Conservancy board, where she serves as board chair. She is also a member of the Tennessee State Museum Commission and serves as a volunteer advocate with Williamson County CASA. She is recognized for her commitment to community engagement, leadership development, and serving others.

When not serving the nonprofit community, Cathy enjoys spending time with her husband, Mark, and grown daughters, Bailey and Abbie, traveling, hiking, playing tennis, and wrangling the family’s two golden doodles.
