Joey Nelson
After leaving an academic career focused on underwater cave biology, Joey Nelson has found a less dangerous, but equally thrilling purpose leading product and growth strategy for a variety of fitness and healthcare brands. As a mother of two and the wife of a USMC veteran, she is grateful to bring her customer acquisition and operations expertise to activating Tennesseans around the premise that promoting responsible gun ownership requires pragmatic firearm safety policies. Joey, a founding member of Safer TN, earned an A.B. from Harvard College and a PhD in Integrative Biology from UC Berkeley.
