Katy Dieckhaus

Community Engagement Coordinator

On March 27, 2023, Katy Dieckhaus and her family tragically lost 9-year-old Evelyn, one of the six victims of the Covenant School shooting in Nashville. Even before this unimaginable loss, Katy had expressed concern about the rise in firearm violence in Tennessee, having written to a lawmaker following a road rage shooting.

Now, with firsthand experience of this devastating reality, Katy has made it her mission to improve safety for all by educating Tennesseans about firearm safety and responsibility, and by finding common ground to build safer communities together.

Prior to her volunteer work, Katy was a pediatric occupational therapist for 17 years.
