Nicole Smith

Vice Chair

Nicole Floyd Smith has long been driven to make a difference. She has nearly 20 years of experience leading strategic advocacy and communications campaigns that inspire meaningful change. Nicole currently serves as Vice President of Advocacy and Communications at the State Collaborative on Reforming Education (SCORE). Previously, she was Senior Vice President of External Affairs at Tennesseans for Quality Early Education and spent a decade leading donor and alumni communications at her alma mater, Vanderbilt University.

Nicole is a Tennessee native who grew up in Smyrna and has lived in Nashville for more than two decades. Firearm safety has been a personal focus for her for many years. While in college, her then-boyfriend (now husband) survived a shooting. When the Covenant School tragedy occurred, Nicole sprang into action and helped found Safer TN. She continues to dedicate her professional and volunteer work to advocacy, fostering conversations and building relationships that create common ground, regardless of background or political perspective.

Nicole lives in Nashville with her husband and two school-aged sons.
